Scallywaggs Gymnastics

Scallywaggs Gymnastics was established in 1995 by Kit and Rod Poole.

Kit Poole
  • Bachelor of Physical Education and Education.
  • Former Coaching and Development Director for NSW Gymnastics. 
  • Silver Advanced Gymnastics Instructor in Womens Artictic Gymnastics
  • Advanced Kindergym Leader. 
  • Been awarded National and State Industry Awards including the 'Lance Otto' award which has only been awarded by Gymnastics Australia 11 times since its inception
  • Presented with the Australian Sports Medal for her work with grassroots gymnastics programs 

Rod Poole
  • Business manager of Scallywaggs Gymnastics.
  • Intermediate Gymnastics instructor in Mens and Womens Artistic Gymnastics.
  • Is the designer and creator of much of the innovative equipment that you will see within the gym.

Paul Branson
  • General manager of Scallywaggs Gymnastics.
  • Started with our recreational program as a gymnast at 13 years of age.
  • Gone on to follow our internal development pathways from apprentice coach into a management position. 
  • Silver Advanced Gymnastics Instructor in Womens Artistic Gymnastics.
  • Intermediate Kindergym leader.

 As soon as you walk through the front doors of Scallywaggs Gymnastics you know you are about to have fun. The bright colours, variety of equipment and the friendly qualified staff will make you want to jump right in. 

Scallywaggs Gymnastics offers the oppourtunity to learn skills from basic motor activities through to advanced gymnastics in a safe and enjoyable environment. 

 There are two streams available:
  • Recreational 
  • Competitive

Students Become Teachers

Our teaching staff is an amazing group of individuals, all bringing something special to the team. Many of our teaching staff have been, or still are, gymnasts in our programs. Other members of our staff are parents of children who are or have attended the Scallywaggs programs. So our staff know how to treat you and your family as they are well aware of the Scallywaggs values that are important to every family who participate in our programs.

We always choose our staff according the qualities that we feel are important to the teaching of children. Our staff demonstrate a desire to be a part of your child’s development in every way.

Scallywaggs Gymnastics staff qualities:

  • enormous amounts of energy
  • a healthy outlook on life
  • an approachable personality that the children feel comfortable with

  • a background in gymnastics, dance, physical education or fitness
